Difference between that and those

“That” and “those” are both pronouns. “That” used to indicate towards singular things whereas “those” is used for multiple or plural things.

Example 1: That is my pen.

Here “pen” is singular so, we are using “that” to indicate towards the particular thing.

Example 2: Those are my books.

Here “books” are plural so, we use “those” to indicate towards them.
